Zircon

Zircon is a semi-precious gemstone valued for its brilliance and natural fire. Chemically it is zirconium silicate (ZrSiO4) and has a hardness of 6 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale. Believed to promote wisdom, protection and prosperity. Zircon is also a December birthstone used for spiritual balance and clarity. Major zircon deposits are found in Sri Lanka where it occurs in colurless, green, yellow and brown varieties commonly used in jewelry markets around the world due to their strong brilliance and durability and increasing demand globally.
